Recently I had to learn how to figure out when the last time a MySQL database had been updated using the phpmyadmin interface.

I was trying to clear out the unused databases in a group of 10 databases. I wasn't sure which databases were related to the active or inactive webpages. So I figure, the ones that have not been updated in over 6mo. must be related to the inactive ones.

To find out this information is simple.

1. Click on the database you want to find out about
2. click on the SQL tab
3. input SHOW TABLE STATUS and then press go.

Results will return giving you information on each table within that database, including table creation dates and last modification dates.
