You know on the Tree of Life, the magickal triangle consists of Hod, Netzach, and Yesod. They have many associations, and they correspond to modes and hierarchies of cosmic manifestation as well as microcosmic principles in man. Hod is intellectual mysticism, it corresponds to Mercury, messenger of the Gods, my birth sign, that is development through intellectual discipline. Yesod is devotional mysticism, empathy, dedication of action, sacrifice, exaltation to higher power. Netzach, the Serpent that travels up the tree is Intoxicational mysticism, i.e. experimentation of consciousness with psychoactives. Ideally, all three are done together in certain rituals, thus the three represent the base of the magical triangle. Projecting down into Malkuth, the Kingdom, the Earthly Man.
